About Plant Care Solutions

Hi, I'm so glad you found us.

Plant Care Solutions started with a simple frustration — I kept finding ugly yellow sticky traps ruining the plants I'd worked so hard to care for. They did the job, sure. But they stuck out like a sore thumb in a space I actually wanted to feel calm and beautiful.

So I decided to do something about it.

The idea: I wanted to create something that actually belonged in a home. Pest control that was effective without being an eyesore. Products that felt considered — because if you've spent time building a little indoor jungle, you deserve tools that match that energy.

That's how Plant Care Solutions was born.

What we stand for: We believe healthy plants shouldn't feel complicated. Whether you've just brought home your very first pothos or you're deep into propagation season, our products are designed to make plant care feel simple, beautiful and genuinely enjoyable.

Every product we create is made with three things in mind — does it work, is it kind to the planet, and does it look good in your home?

If the answer isn't yes to all three, it's not Plant Care Solutions.

Our products: Right now we're focused on our signature sticky traps — discreet, compostable, pet safe and designed in shapes that actually blend into your plants. But this is just the beginning. We're building a whole range of plant care essentials for people who care about what they bring into their homes.

Thank you for being here, especially if you're one of our very first customers. Your support as a small Aussie brand means more than I can say.

Here's to healthier plants, calmer homes and greener spaces you genuinely love spending time in.

With love, The Plant Care Solutions team 🌿

The Products

What are Plant Care Solutions sticky traps?

Plant Care Solutions sticky traps are eco-friendly, compostable pest control traps designed for indoor plant lovers who don't want ugly yellow boards ruining their beautiful space. Instead of harsh chemicals or toxic sprays, our traps use a natural physical adhesive called polybutene to catch fungus gnats, whiteflies, aphids and other flying plant pests on contact. They work hard, they look good and they don't cost the earth — literally.

What shapes do they come in?

We currently have three shapes — a peace sign, a dinosaur and a flower. All three are green so they blend right into your plant display instead of screaming "pest problem" to every visitor who walks through the door. You can grab them individually or as a bundle if you want to mix things up across your plants.

What bugs do they actually catch?

Fungus gnats are the big one — if you've got little black flies hovering around your indoor plants, that's them and our traps are specifically designed to deal with them. We also catch whiteflies, aphids, shore flies and most other small flying insects that like to make your plants their home.

How long do they last?

Each trap lasts up to 12 months or until it's full — whichever comes first. That's a whole year of pest protection from one little trap, which makes them genuinely great value compared to cheap yellow plastic ones you're replacing every few weeks.

Can I use them for outside plants too?

Yes absolutely you can use them outside too — just be mindful of where you place them as they can catch beneficial insects like bees!! We'd recommend popping them close to the soil and lower in the plant rather than near any flowers to keep your little pollinators safe!! 🐝🌿

Safety

I have a cat/dog — are these safe?

100% yes. Our traps are completely pet safe and non-toxic so you don't need to stress about your curious cat batting them around or your dog sniffing a little too close. They're one of the only indoor plant pest control solutions you can genuinely feel good about using in a home with animals.

What about kids?

Totally safe — no toxic chemicals, no fumes, nothing nasty. We'd still suggest popping them somewhere little hands aren't going to grab them just because the adhesive is very sticky and very hard to get off fabric, but from a safety perspective you're all good.

What's the active ingredient?

Polybutene — it's a physical adhesive, not a pesticide or chemical treatment. It works by trapping insects on contact rather than poisoning them or releasing anything into the air. That's what makes them safe for pets, kids, herbs and edible plants alike.

Can I use them near my herbs and veggie plants?

Absolutely — because there are no chemicals or toxic substances involved you can place them near herbs, edible plants and vegetable gardens without any worry. A lot of our customers use them in their kitchen herb gardens specifically for this reason.

Using the traps

How do I actually set them up?

It couldn't be simpler. Peel the easy peel backing off both sides of the trap to expose the sticky adhesive, then push the stake into the soil near the base of your plant. If you have a hanging plant just use the hook included to suspend the trap near the foliage. Honestly takes about ten seconds.

How many do I need?

A good rule of thumb is one trap per medium sized pot. For larger plant displays or statement indoor plants we recommend placing one every 30cm or so. If you've got a serious gnat situation going on, start with two per pot and scale back once things are under control.

Do they work outside?

They're made for indoor use but they do the job in sheltered outdoor spaces too — think balconies, patios and greenhouses. Just avoid placing them somewhere super exposed where wind and rain might interfere with the adhesive.

What about humidity — I mist my plants a lot?

No problem at all. The adhesive is fully waterproof so misting, watering and steamy bathroom plant setups won't affect how well they work. This is one of the things that genuinely sets our traps apart from a lot of cheaper alternatives.
